Wedding DJ & Singer for American Couples in Spain
A destination wedding in Marbella, handled end-to-end. DJ, live singer and MC — one booking from ceremony to last dance.
Planning a wedding in Spain from the United States is a lot to carry — venue, planner, catering, florals, travel logistics for a hundred guests — all handled by email and Zoom across a five to nine-hour time difference. The entertainment shouldn't add to the load.
Ian Preston brings twenty years of destination weddings on the Costa del Sol and a setup built for American couples specifically: one point of contact from first call to last dance, English-speaking ceremony and MC work, and a combined singer-DJ-host booking that replaces three separate suppliers you'd otherwise manage from abroad.
Mediterranean, Not Manufactured
The appeal of a Marbella wedding isn't a single Instagram moment — it's the full day. Late-afternoon ceremonies in golden light. A cocktail hour on a terrace over the Mediterranean, live vocals carrying across the drinks. A long, relaxed meal that runs into speeches, into dancing, into one of those nights nobody wants to end.
Ian's role is to make that arc feel inevitable. The music cues the ceremony, the speeches land cleanly, the dance floor fills when it should. Nothing rushed, nothing over-produced, nothing that reminds your guests they're at a destination wedding instead of simply at a wedding they'll remember.
One Booking, Full Day
Most American couples book Ian for the whole day — it simplifies the run-sheet and keeps the tone coherent end to end:
- Ceremony — sound system and officiant mic, live vocals or a curated set, Ian stays out of the official photographs.
- Cocktail hour — live singing over a Sinatra-leaning set while guests mingle.
- Meal & speeches — hosts the flow, introduces the wedding party cleanly, keeps courses moving so the evening isn't a rush.
- Reception — a room-reading DJ set with a live vocal layer, plus a roving mic for unscripted moments — live-sung first-dance encore, cake-cut sing-alongs, photographs you couldn't have posed for.

WeddingAmerican Couples — FAQs
Why are American couples choosing Marbella for their wedding? +
Spain has become one of the fastest-growing destinations for American destination weddings. Marbella in particular offers Mediterranean light, walkable old-town charm, coastal and villa venues at a wide range of budgets, and direct long-haul routes into Málaga via Madrid. For couples wanting the European feel of Tuscany or the South of France without the price tag, the Costa del Sol is hard to beat.
Is our wedding legally recognised in the US if we marry in Spain? +
Most American couples have a brief legal ceremony at home and then hold the symbolic wedding in Spain — it's faster, cheaper and avoids residency paperwork. If you want a legal Spanish ceremony, it's possible but adds time and documentation; your planner can walk you through it. Ian handles the symbolic-ceremony side of the day regardless of which route you take.
Does Ian perform in English? +
Yes — English is Ian's first language and the default for every ceremony, speech intro and reception set. The majority of his couples are English-speaking (US, Ireland, UK), and your guests will hear him speak exactly as they would at a wedding back home.
What does a full-day booking cover? +
Ceremony sound, officiant mic, live vocals or curated playlist during the ceremony; a live cocktail-hour set; MC duties across the meal and speeches; and the full evening DJ set with live vocal layered in. One booking, one sound rig, one person coordinating the day — rather than three separate suppliers to manage from 5,000 miles away.
How does this work across the time difference? +
Planning calls run over Zoom at a time that works in your timezone — Ian is used to early calls with East Coast couples and late ones with the West Coast. WhatsApp is the quickest channel for smaller questions. Everything is documented so nothing gets lost in translation.
When should we book? +
The Marbella season peaks from May through September, and Saturdays in June and September are the first to go. Twelve to eighteen months ahead is the safe window for peak dates. Get in touch as soon as your venue is locked and Ian will hold the date while you finalise.
