Wedding DJ & Singer for UK Couples

Destination Weddings, Built Around Your Day

Trusted by British couples across Marbella and the Costa del Sol. DJ, live singer and MC in one booking, never a template.

Taking a British wedding abroad is a big call. The venue has to work, the logistics have to work, and the entertainment has to work at least as hard as either of them. Ian Preston has spent twenty years learning what makes a British wedding land, from the first dance to the final shout for one more song.

He arrives as your singer, DJ and host rolled into one. One point of contact from booking to last dance, one sound setup instead of three, and one person reading the room all night.

Reading Your Crowd, Not a Stereotype

The job isn't guessing what you'll like based on where you're from. It's a conversation. Before the day, Ian runs a planning call: your favourite tracks, the songs that always come out at family events, the artists your friends will lose their minds to, anything you absolutely don't want played, the moments that matter most to you.

That's how the run-sheet gets built. Not from a template, not from assumptions about postcodes, but from the specifics of your guest list and the wedding you want. By the time Ian arrives, the shape of the day is already clear. From there it's about reading the actual room and adjusting in real time.

UK Weddings Span a Range

No two British weddings are the same. One leans into rock anthems and crowd singalongs with a late peak that empties the bar. The next wants polished, current-club energy with a live vocal layer all evening. The next opens with a Sinatra-led drinks reception then flips into chart hits at nine. Some want loud and unscripted; some want elegant and tightly run.

Ian's worked all of them. The point isn't to pick the right box on a checklist. It's that he listens for what your wedding actually wants, then delivers exactly that. Your couple, your guests, your venue, your night.

Production Scaled to Your Day

Some couples want a proper, premium booth with lighting that gives the photographer and videographer something to work with: the kind of setup that looks as good on the day as it does in the album. Others want the kit to disappear, to let the room and the people in it do the work.

Ian brings the rig that fits the wedding. Cleaner setup for an intimate villa terrace; full production for a hotel ballroom or beach-club reception. Same craft either way. The gear's there to serve the night, not to upstage it. Decided on the planning call, not assumed from the booking.

One Booking, Full Day

Three separate suppliers (a ceremony singer, an MC, an evening DJ) is how most British weddings end up planned. It works, but it rarely feels like one coherent day. Book Ian and it's one person, one sound rig, one run-sheet:

  • Ceremony. Sound and officiant mic, live vocals or a curated set, out of the photographer's frame.
  • Cocktail hour. Live singing over a Sinatra-leaning set as guests arrive and drinks flow.
  • Meal & speeches. Hosts the flow, bridal party intros done with charm rather than a clipboard voice, guests moved through courses to protect dance-floor time.
  • Reception. Atmosphere over mixing. Roving mic for unscripted moments: live-sung cake cut, guest singalongs, the photographs no one planned for.

UK Wedding FAQs

Where do UK couples usually get married on the Costa del Sol? +

British couples typically choose the stretch between Estepona and Marbella, with a growing number heading inland to white-washed villages or out toward Sotogrande. Ian covers the full Costa del Sol, Andalusia and wider Spain, and most British venues he's already worked at.

Can you handle a British-style running order? +

Yes. Welcome drinks, the speeches-and-toast sequence at the end of the meal rather than between courses, first dance cued cleanly into the opening DJ set, anthem run for the last hour. The British rhythm is built into the run-sheet from the planning call onwards. No Spanish-wedding adjustments needed.

How do you decide what music actually fits our wedding? +

On the planning call. Ian asks about your guests, your favourite tracks, what you grew up on, what your friends will demand, anything you don't want played. By the time the day arrives there's a clear shape, but he's still reading the room and adjusting in real time. The set is built around your wedding, not a template.

Will the production look right for our photos? +

Equipment scales to the venue and the look you want. Some couples want a clean, low-profile setup that disappears into the room; others want a properly produced booth with lighting that gives the photographer something to work with. Both are fine. Talk it through on the call. Ian's not interested in a rig that fights the venue.

Will you play the music we actually want? +

Always. Send a wishlist, send a do-not-play list, or just let Ian read the room. Most weddings sit somewhere between 'crowd anthems guests will sing back' and 'current chart energy with a live vocal layer.' The mix shifts to match your specific guest list, not a fixed setlist.

How far in advance should we book? +

Summer Saturdays (May–September) book up 12–18 months ahead. April, October and weekday dates can sometimes be held later. Lock your venue first, then get in touch. Ian will hold the date while you finalise.
