Wedding DJ & Singer for Irish Couples in Spain
Twenty years running the floor at Irish weddings abroad. DJ, live singer and MC in one — ceremony to last dance.
Irish couples are the biggest group Ian works with — and it's easy to see why. Marbella and the Costa del Sol are a short hop from Dublin, Cork and Shannon, the weather holds from May through October, and the venues are used to hosting a proper Irish party.
Ian has spent twenty years playing to Irish crowds in Spain. That means the day doesn't just run smoothly — it feels right. The ceremony lands. The cocktail hour has the pace your friends want. Speeches move. And by the time the evening hits, the floor fills and stays full.
Music Your Crowd Actually Wants
Irish weddings don't need coaxing onto the dancefloor — they need a DJ who knows when to drop the right tune. Thunderstruck. Dancing in the Dark. The rock anthems that fill a floor from first note to last. Ian reads the room rather than running a fixed setlist, which means the night peaks when your guests are ready for it, not when the schedule says so.
Expect a mix of rock sing-alongs, floor-fillers everyone knows the words to, and whatever curveballs your families bring in. Requests are welcome — they're usually what tips the night from "good wedding" into the story everyone's still telling a year later.
One Booking, Full Day
Most Irish couples book Ian for the full day — it's simpler and it sounds like one coherent event rather than three stitched-together sets. A typical run looks like this:
- Ceremony — sound system and officiant mic, live vocals or a curated playlist, Ian stays out of the photographer's frame.
- Cocktail hour — live singing over a Sinatra-leaning set while guests mingle and the photographer works the crowd.
- Meal & speeches — hosts the flow, introduces the bridal party with a bit of craic, keeps the courses moving so you don't lose dance time.
- Reception — atmosphere over mixing. Roving old-style microphone mid-floor for unscripted moments — Ian singing live during the cake cut, bridesmaids grabbing the mic, the photographer getting shots no one could have posed for.

WeddingIrish Wedding FAQs
Do a lot of Irish couples have their weddings in Marbella? +
Yes — Irish couples are the single biggest group Ian works with. Marbella and the wider Costa del Sol have become a go-to destination for Irish weddings: direct flights from Dublin, Cork and Shannon, reliable sunshine from May to October, and venues used to hosting large Irish parties.
Can you do the full day — ceremony, meal and evening? +
Yes. Ian can be booked from the ceremony right through to the last dance. He covers ceremony vocals and sound, a live cocktail-hour set, hosts the meal and speeches, and then switches into the DJ set for the reception. One booking, one sound rig, one point of contact all day.
Will it feel like an Irish wedding? +
The goal is to give your guests the energy they came for — a proper session, not a polite reception. Ian has spent twenty years playing to Irish crowds and reads the room accordingly: rock-leaning sing-alongs, full-floor moments, and a late peak instead of an early fade. Requests are welcome, and he'll mix them with anthems he knows Irish floors always answer to.
Can we bring our own playlist or a trad set? +
Absolutely. Playlists are welcome, never required. If you want a short trad element — a few tunes at the drinks reception, a couple of traditional floor-fillers in the evening — Ian will work it into the flow. If you'd rather he drives the full set, that works too.
Do you work with Irish wedding planners based in Spain? +
Yes — Ian regularly works alongside Ireland-facing planners and Marbella-based coordinators. If you already have a planner, he'll slot straight into their run-sheet; if you don't yet, he can recommend introductions based on your venue and budget.
How far in advance should we book? +
Summer Saturdays (May–September) are the quickest to go — 12 months ahead is the safest window, and some couples lock dates 18 months out. Shoulder dates (April, October) can sometimes be booked later. Get in touch as soon as your date is set and Ian will hold it while you finalise.
